Kimberly is Working, While Karen & Ellen Argue |
There are 6 Candidates on the Ballot |
A Vote for Ellen is Also a Vote for Karen |
This Board of Education election has some interesting election law nuance to it.
After the election, the Mayor has to appoint another person in the district (plus the Board President) to complete the 21 person Board. Ellen lives in Sub-District 4B. Karen lives in Sub-District 4A. If Ellen wins, Karen will probably get appointed because she's the CTU-endorsed candidate. Kimberly Brown and Karen both live in Sub-District 4A. If Kimberly wins, Karen legally cannot get appointed. If you are voting AGAINST Karen, then you should vote for Kimberly Brown. If Kimberly Brown wins, Karen legally cannot get appointed. If you're voting based on the candidate's experience and policies, ignore all of this! |
Over 25 Families Donated $2,000+ Worth of Items for CPS Families in Need! |
On October 26, Kimberly Brown passed out candy AND collected donations for CPS families in need at the corner of Belmont and Broadway during the Lakeview East Little Monsters Crawl. We had more than 20 families donate items AND even more connect with us the following week!
Kimberly is dropping off the donations with CPS Family and Community Engagement leader, Evelyn, at Logandale Elementary School on Nov 6. Evelyn is beyond excited and grateful! We'll share pictures from the drop-off!
Thank you all so much! If you have donations, please email us at team@kimberlybrownforchicago.org |

CPS Needs Better Pedestrian Safety |
Parents and citizens across the city want safe access to schools.
Did you know the City of Chicago is working to improve safety in school zones by making a number of infrastructure improvements, including curb bump-outs, raised crosswalks, and refuge islands? They started a small pilot program last year with 10 schools. As a Board of Education leader, Kimberly Brown would make this a District-wide initiative.
Pedestrian upgrades are designed to meet the safety needs of an individual school. Typically improvements include curb bump outs, raised crosswalks, and refuge islands. |

New Appointed Board President Resigns |
Hate has NO place here.
The words and actions of the newly appointed (and now former) Chicago school board president are appalling, antisemitic, and inexcusable for any leader. Kimberly Brown signed and shared a petition asked for his removal/resignation yesterday before he resigned. Actions and past experience matter. Look into your candidates. And if you can't or someone is too vague, that is a big red flag. |
